Having sold more than 20 million units of the most anticipated smartphone of the year, the Samsung Galaxy SIV,
Samsung is now readying the stage to launch its elder brother. Rumours
have it that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III will feature even
larger display than the Galaxy Note II.
The Display
Like any other Samsung
smartphone the Galaxy Note III has had its fair share of specifications
and image leaks. Samsung Galaxy Note series is known for its generously
large displays and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note III is no
exception. Some rumours suggest the Samsung Galaxy Note III will boast
of a 5.99 inch Super AMOLED full HD display while some speculators
believe that it will come with a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED FHD display.
The Processor, Chipset and RAM
The Samsung Galaxy Note III might come
in 2 variants- One with Quad-core processor and the other with an
octa-core processor. Both will have identical hardware specifications
but the chipset and the processor.
The 8 core version will be based on Samsung’s own Exynos 5 chipset having 4 cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz for light tasks and 4 cortex A15 cores
clocked slightly higher at 1.8GHz to tackle the taxing jobs. The Mali
T628 (8 cores) GPU will take care of your gaming zests. This can be the
International
On the other hand, the quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC will have four krait 400 cores which might tick at 2.3GHz clock speed. Adreno 330 GPU is in charge of gaming needs here.
The Galaxy Note
phablet is the best that Samsung can offer and it is always better than
the current edition of Samsung Galaxy S x smartphone. Now that the
Galaxy SIV is equipped with 2GB of RAM we can expect the Samsung Galaxy
Note III to come packed with 3GB RAM at least.
Connectivity
Both of these
Galaxy Note III versions should have LTE connectivity but it is pegged
that the Snapdragon based version will also have LTE-A capable of
150Mbps downlink data rate and 50Mbps uplink speed.
USB 3.0 is
expected to enable faster data transfer between your phablet and the
computer. It will support USB On-the-Go and USB host functionality.
On the wireless
side of things, Bluetooth v4.0 will be there to assist faster data
transfer between two devices and also keep the power consumption in
check. WLAN 802.11 b/g/n/ac protocols will be supported by both the
versions for sharing data between wireless LAN networks.
A-GPS is also there along with GLONASS to lock on to satellites within no time.
The 13MP Camera with Xenon Flash
Samsung has a
tradition of putting in the camera module from the flagship smartphone
(Galaxy S x) into the flagship phablet (Galaxy Note x). If the rumours
are to be believed then the upcoming Galaxy Note III will come with a
13MP camera coupled with a Xenon flash to capture those moments in the
dark. Yes, Xenon flash.
The Note III will also be the first among the Galaxy line-up to come equipped with a dedicated camera button.
It is also speculated that the camera in the Galaxy Note III will also support OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which will help you almost blur free pictures.
Android v4.3 JB
Recently a
snapshot of a device labelled SM-N900 running on android 4.2.2 was
leaked online scoring a whopping 33k in Antutu benchmark test. Analysts
suggest that it might be upcoming Galaxy Note III or some other powerful
Samsung device but the chances of it being the Note III can’t be
overruled.

Samsung has a
history of releasing its Galaxy Note line-up with the latest android OS.
The android v4.2.2 seems a bit stale at the moment so we suspect that
it might come running on top of android v4.3 at least.
Release date and Price tag
It is rumoured that Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note III on Sep 4th 2013 at IFA, Berlin.
There has been no hearsay about the price tag of the Note III but as far as I can tell it will somewhere in the price bracket of 40-43k INR.
