The human body needs food for two
purposes- Fuel for energy and as raw material to repair itself. The food
we eat provides energy and keeps the body functioning at its best. A
vegetarian diet contains fewest additives and least amount of fats and
cholesterol. So, the veggies must always follow some healthy eating
habits to stay fit and fine.
The food
you eat builds both our body and mind. You should always take a healthy
and nutritionally balanced meal. Here are few pointers about the same:
1. Try to keep your meals at regular intervals- Don’t
eat anything unnecessarily until you are actually hungry. Remember it
is in the nature of animals to eat for the whole day. Eat your food
slowly and thoroughly. Chew your food properly.
Eat only 4-5 different types of food at a time. Too many types are difficult to digest.
2. You should never overload your system- Fill
the stomach half with food, one quarter with water and leave the rest
empty. Always take food little less than required. Try to fast at least
once a week. Take light foods for dinner.
3. Eat your food in silence- Do
not make any sound of plates or spoons. Maintain a peaceful attitude
during the meals. Always remember God before starting your meal.*
4. Eat at least one raw salad every day- Drinking
enough water everyday reduces stress hormones. Green tea relaxes the
brain and improves mental alertness. Starting your day with a cup of
coffee is good for your health. Avoid too much intake of caffeine.
Coconut water and unsweetened juices are the best energy boosters.
5. Never skip your breakfast- The
right breakfast is important for your body and brain. A healthy
breakfast followed by fruits after a couple of hours help to increase
your memory and stamina.
6. Eat small snacks- Consume dry-fruits
or yogurt with whole wheat crackers or a sandwich between the meals is
good for keeping energy levels up and improve your attention span. It
also helps to increase the productivity at work.
Don’t eat junk foods. Avoid fried food. Reduce the intake of salt, sugar and spices in your meals. Say no to alcohol.
The
food you eat is as important as your workout. In order to achieve
radiant health and well-being, always eat pure and nutritional foods.
